Valentine’s Day Flower Guide: Roses, Romance and What to Send
Valentine’s Day comes down to one flower above all others — the rose — but how you send it is where you make it personal. After more than a few February 14ths on the tools, here’s how to choose the right gesture for the relationship you’re in.
How big a gesture?
Match the flowers to the moment, not the calendar. A long-stemmed dozen reds is a grand, unmistakable statement — perfect for a milestone or a big romantic swing. A softer rose arrangement or a modern vase design says something warmer and more everyday-romantic. Neither is wrong; they just speak in different volumes.
Our Valentine’s Day collection is led by classic reds and lush romantic bouquets, with the year’s top picks ranked by the kind of gesture you’re making.
Red roses, or something else?
A quick read on the classics:
- Red roses — love, passion and the safest romantic choice there is.
- Pink roses — affection and admiration; a little softer than red.
- A mixed romantic bouquet — for partners who love something less traditional.
- A ready-to-display vase arrangement — effortless, with nothing to arrange.
Order early — genuinely
Valentine’s Day is the one date where waiting really does cost you. Roses are in peak demand worldwide that week, and the best stems go first. Order at least a day or two ahead to lock in your first choice; same-day is available before the 2pm cut-off but it’s a gamble on the busiest romantic day of the year.
Nobody has ever regretted ordering Valentine’s roses early. Plenty have regretted leaving it to 1:55pm on the 14th.
